Shannon Wood Portfolio
Biography:

Shannon Wood (she/her) is Plains Cree from Little Pine First Nation. She is an artist who lives and works in Saskatoon SK. Her specialty is beading in all its techniques but particularly enjoys the loom. She is self-taught and improved with practice. In the future, she would like to learn from an Elder or knowledge keeper to understand beading more from a traditional lens. She has been commissioned on a few occasions by local not for profits. She is a parent, a student and life long learner.

I was asked to do a private commission through a referral. The commission was a pride lanyard, thread and beads.

Prided Beaded Collection
I was commissioned by OUTSaskatoon to created a beaded collection including two beaded bracelets, a beaded necklace and beaded earrings, thread and beads for the Glitter Gala.


September 2019
Pride Beaded Bracelets
I was commissioned by an OUTSaskatoon board member to created 20 beaded pride bracelets, thread, and beads for the OUTSaskatoon AIDS Walk fundraiser.
October 2017
Beaded Flowers
I was commissioned by the Saskatchewan Indigenous Cultural Centre to bead 15 beaded flowers, thread and beads for their First Nations Language Keepers Gathering.
